Terms of Use

The Osaka City Museum Organization, Osaka City Science Museum (hereinafter referred to as "the Museum"), has established the "Osaka City Science Museum Ticket Site Terms of Use" (hereinafter referred to as "these Terms") as follows.

Please use the Osaka City Science Museum Ticket Site (hereinafter referred to as "the Service") provided by the Museum after agreeing to these Terms.

Article 1: Scope of Application and Changes to These Terms

  1. Customers who use the Service are deemed to have understood and accepted all the contents of these Terms.
  2. These Terms apply when customers use the Service.
  3. The Museum may change these Terms without prior consent from the customer. Customers are expected to check these Terms each time they use the Service. If customers use the Service after changes have been made, they are deemed to have agreed to the changes. Only the changed content will be effective after changes.

Article 2: Conditions of Use

  1. The Service is intended only for customers who purchase tickets for viewing exhibits, planetarium shows, and other events (hereinafter referred to as "tickets") at the Osaka City Science Museum via the internet. Use for purposes other than ticket purchase is not allowed.
  2. The Service is intended only for customers who can operate and use computers and the internet at their own responsibility and who use computers with appropriate settings for email. The Museum is not responsible if the Service cannot be used correctly due to issues with the customer's equipment, network, OS, provider, etc.
  3. Customers must enter their personal information (such as email address and phone number) in the specified form to purchase tickets. If there is any omission, unreadable text, or false information, the Museum may refuse the purchase application.

Article 3: Prohibited Acts

  1. Customers are prohibited from reselling tickets to third parties or providing tickets to third parties for resale, regardless of profit motive. It is also prohibited to transfer tickets to third parties for free for the customer's own profit.
  2. Customers are prohibited from purchasing tickets with the intention of reselling them to third parties or providing them to third parties for resale. It is also prohibited to purchase tickets with the intention of transferring them for free for the customer's profit.
  3. If customers violate paragraphs 1 or 2, the Museum will take measures to invalidate the tickets, and no refunds will be given.
  4. Customers shall not engage in the following acts when using the Service: (1) Acts that infringe or may infringe the copyrights, trademark rights, or other intellectual property rights, property rights, or privacy of the Museum or third parties, including other customers. (2) Acts that are or may be contrary to public order and morals, or providing information contrary to public order and morals to third parties, including other customers. (3) Acts that constitute or may constitute crimes. (4) Election campaigns or similar activities, regardless of the election period. (5) Activities related to sexual services, religion, or politics. (6) Commercial activities related to the Service without the consent of the Museum. (7) Falsifying personal information such as name and email address or impersonating others. (8) Using or providing harmful programs such as computer viruses through or related to the Service. (9) Acts that violate or may violate laws and regulations. (10) Other acts deemed inappropriate by the Museum.

Article 4: Ticket Sales

  1. The types and prices of tickets that customers can purchase using the Service are listed on the sales page. However, the types and prices of tickets may change without notice due to the Museum's circumstances.
  2. When customers apply for tickets using the Service, the sales contract is deemed to be established when the Museum makes the purchased tickets available for viewing in the purchase history on the sales site or when the purchase completion email reaches the registered email address (recorded on the mail server), whichever is earlier.
  3. After purchasing date-specified tickets, the visit date and time cannot be changed. Please confirm before purchasing.

Article 5: Payment Method

The ticket purchase price is paid by "credit card payment." Accepted credit cards are VISA, MasterCard, JCB, AMEX, and Diners Club. Virtual cards or similar types of credit cards that do not physically exist cannot be used.

Article 6: Ticket Delivery

Tickets are displayed by accessing the purchase history on the site using the email address and password registered at the time of purchase. If multiple tickets are purchased, the procedure for distributing tickets can be completed by the date specified by the Museum. Tickets can be obtained by following the electronic data acquisition method announced by the Museum and entering from the designated entrance with the tickets (QR code). Tickets (QR codes) can be printed and used. No refunds will be given if you forget your mobile phone on the day of use, or if the ticket (QR code) is damaged due to mobile phone malfunction, etc. No refunds will be given if you cannot receive the ticket (QR code) due to circumstances.

Article 7: Refusal of Sale and Delivery

The Museum will refuse to sell or deliver tickets if the customer falls under the following circumstances: (1) The customer made false declarations or did not make necessary declarations as specified by the Museum. (2) The customer engaged in acts that inconvenience other customers or third parties or hinder the smooth sale of tickets by the Museum. (3) The customer did not complete the specified procedures within the period specified by the Museum. (4) The customer did not follow the specified purchase method. (5) The customer engaged in acts that violate these Terms.

The Museum may claim compensation for damages caused by the customer as described above.

Article 8: Ticket Replacement, Changes, and Cooling-Off

Purchased tickets can be canceled until 9:00 AM on the day of the visit. Ticket replacement, changes, and cancellations after 9:00 AM on the day of the visit are not accepted for any reason. However, this does not apply if the ticket purchase contract between the Museum and the customer is invalidated, canceled, or terminated due to the Museum's default. The cooling-off period does not apply to tickets sold through the Service.

Article 9: Loss and Theft

Tickets are not reissued under any circumstances (loss, theft, damage, etc.).

Article 10: Refunds

In the event of closure due to natural disasters or other force majeure, or temporary closure due to the Museum's circumstances, ticket fees will be refunded to customers using the method specified by the Museum. However, no refunds will be given if the refund period has passed or if the ticket (QR code) is damaged or lost. Refunds are limited to the ticket fee only, and the Museum is not responsible for any other costs (transportation, accommodation, communication, etc.) or damages. Customers acknowledge that it may take 3-4 weeks for refunds.

Article 11: End and Resumption of Sales

Ticket sales will end when the number of tickets planned for sale by the Museum is reached, even during the sales period. However, sales may resume if additional slots are available.

Article 12: Disclaimer Regarding Tickets

  1. The Museum is not responsible for tickets purchased other than directly from the Museum.
  2. The Museum is not responsible for any damages incurred by customers or third parties due to delays or inability to confirm or notify the outcome of ticket applications or purchases due to communication line congestion or computer system failures, etc.

Article 13: Personal Information

  1. The Museum records personal information for the purposes specified in the following section. Customers consent to the Museum recording their ticket purchase history and Service usage history (hereinafter referred to as "personal history"). Customers who do not consent to providing personal information or recording personal history cannot use the Service.
  2. The Museum uses personal information or personal history for the following purposes. When using personal information or personal history for purposes other than those specified, the Museum will inform customers of the purpose and obtain their consent. (1) Selling tickets related to the customer's application and providing related services via email, etc. (2) Informing customers about tickets and surveys handled by the Museum via email, etc. (3) Providing user support related to tickets and Museum services (response to inquiries, etc.) (4) Providing other services related or incidental to the Service (5) Creating statistical materials for the Museum's marketing activities in a format that does not identify individuals (6) Necessary identification and inquiries based on laws and regulations
  3. Customers consent to the Museum disclosing personal information to third-party contractors (hereinafter referred to as "contractors") within the scope necessary for the contractors to perform their tasks. In this case, the Museum will contractually obligate the contractors not to disclose or leak personal information to third parties and not to use personal information for purposes other than performing their tasks.
  4. When purchasing with a credit card, customers consent to the Museum exchanging personal information with credit card companies to verify the validity of the credit card.
  5. The Museum may disclose personal information or personal history to third parties without customer consent in the following cases: (1) When required by law. (2) When it is necessary to protect the life, body, or property of a person and it is difficult to obtain consent. (3) When it is particularly necessary to improve public health or promote the sound development of children and it is difficult to obtain consent. (4) When it is necessary to cooperate with national or local government agencies or their contractors in performing their duties, and obtaining consent may hinder the performance of those duties.
  6. The Museum will take reasonable measures to protect personal information and personal history from leakage, loss, unauthorized access, alteration, destruction, etc.
  7. Upon receiving the following requests from customers, the Museum will take necessary measures without delay within a reasonable scope: (1) Disclosure of personal information or personal history held by the Museum (2) Correction, addition, or deletion of personal information or personal history held by the Museum if there are errors or changes (3) Suspension or deletion of personal information or personal history if there are errors or changes
  8. The Museum will process requests according to the previous section upon receiving identification documentation specified by the Museum from the customer. Please note that a processing fee may apply for the requests mentioned in the previous section.

Article 14: Prohibition of Assignment

Customers cannot assign, transfer, mortgage, or otherwise dispose of any rights or obligations under these Terms to third parties without the Museum's prior written consent.

Article 15: Severability

Even if any part of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable by a competent court, the remaining provisions of these Terms shall remain in effect. The parties shall endeavor to replace the invalid or unenforceable part with a valid and enforceable provision that most closely matches the economic intent of the invalid or unenforceable part.
